PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Upgrade
Opening the door to new and better things
PeopleSoft Human Capital Management [HCM] has been the core system for managing employee records, benefits and pay for the University of Alberta since August 1999. While there have been changes to the system over the years, the current upgrade is focused on providing better access to information and creating more efficiency within the human resource function across campus.
With this upgrade, we will make more efficient use of functionality that is already available within the system. Our goal is to provide better access to information and improve the validity and integrity of our information so people can work with a higher degree of accuracy [be right the first time!]. We expect to gain even more efficiency by introducing simplified processes and putting information in the hands of the people that need it to make decisions.
Who will be affected?
Faculty, staff, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will be impacted with the roll out of updated and new self-service functions.
For those individuals involved in the human resource management function across campus, the introduction of new functionality and modifications to existing features will introduce changes in the way some work is currently being done. This may impact internal business processes within departments and faculties. The changes you see will vary depending on your role.
